The Lumiere Lift - A Combination Approach To Achieving A Natural Non-Surgical Facelift

Non-surgical Facelift At Lumiere MediSpa In Oxfordshire

Non-Surgical Vs. Surgical Facelifts

In 2017, figures published by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (Baaps) showed that the total number of face/neck lift fell by 44%, with women opting instead to have non-surgical procedures such as Botoxdermal fillers and HIFU for a more subtle rejuvenation of the ageing appearance.

Surgical Facelifts, whilst longer lasting (10ys or so), are associated with higher risks and longer recovery periods than dermal fillers. There is also a growing stigma surrounding the "look" of the surgical facelift, which can at times be seen as taught and distorted; skin pulled unnaturally tightly over structures that have changed and aged.

Non-surgical facelifts can be achieved using a combination of treatments that target both skin and structural changes that occur with age. This can result in a more natural rejuvenated appearance because the cause of these changes have been addressed.

Facial Ageing Changes

Below you can see skeletal imaging that shows the changes through bone resorption from a younger face to an older face. You can see how the temporal area becomes concave (sunken), the eye orbit opens wider and the maxillary (mid face) structures resorb inwards. Overlying these structures, the fat pads become displaced causing the skin to fall down and forward, creating the "sagging skin" and "folds" that I am so often asked to treat.

Left is the younger skeleral framework. Right is an older skeletal framewok.

Here you can see these changes outwardly and the effects this has on what is perceived as an ageing skin appearance.

Would pulling the skin tighter on the image to the right really make her look younger?

The Lumiere Lift

The Lumiere Lift isn't a treatment in itself, rather a treatment plan that is individualised for each patient utilising a combinination of treatments such as dermal fillers to replace deep structures and boney resorption, HIFU (High Intensity Focussed Ultrasound) to target lost skin elasticty and lift, and Botox injections to soften frown lines and crows feet and muscular contractions. Of course not everyone will need or even want all of these treatments and that is why an initial consultation is so vital - to individualise your treatments and skin goals. Take a look below at two examples of my work in correlation to what my patients wished to achieve:
