In preparation for our medical grade hair restoration treatment your scalp will be througly cleansed, the CALECIM® serum will be applied to the treatment area. This not only acts as a glide for our medical grade microneedling devise, but also hydrates and soothes during the treatment, infusing to deeper layers of the scalp and hair follicles. During the treatment, you may experience a scratching sensation, but is not generally described as painful. Topical CALECIM® Professional serum is then applied again to the scalp to encourage a healthy healing process and hair follicle maturation.
If you opted for the Hybrid treatment you will be given an at-home pack containing 5 vials of Calecim Advanced Hair System and a scalp needling device. You will perform your own at-home treatments once a week in the same area. Don’t worry we will talk it all through for you and there is a video guide that will be sent to you.
If you opted for our practitioners to provide all of your treatments you will return once a week to the clinic for 5 more weeks.
Straight after treatment, your scalp may feel hot and tight with a pink sun-burnt appearance. This is normal and is the beginning of the scalp healing process; inducing your own oxygen-enriched blood supply to dormant follicles.
Results of our Calecim hair restoration treatment are seen 4 weeks after the first treatment, but depending upon the condition of your skin, a course of 6 is generally advised. Those with extreme hair loss and thinning may require up to 12 treatments which will be discussed during your initial consultation. Depending on your hair loss, you may also be advised to perform regular at-home treatments to maintain your scalp and follicle health.
Fortunately, Calecim hair restoration treatment with microneedling are very low risk, but you may encounter some changes within the first few days after treatment:
-Your scalp may remain pink for 1-3 days after treatment.
-Your scalp may feel dry or flaky.
-Mild bruising and swelling can occur, although this is rare.
The medical grade microneedling pen we use is completely safe. The needle cartridge is sealed, therefore no body fluids can enter the devise ultrasonically sealed base, eliminating the risk of any cross-contamination. We, therefore, advise that you always ask about which microneedling device a clinic uses when looking for this treatment.
Yes, although these will be discussed in greater detail during your appointment:
-Avoid touching the treated area/s for 6 hours after treatment. It is important to maintain good hand hygiene.
-Avoid washing your hair for 24 hours.
-Avoid UV sun exposure for 1 week after treatment.
