Underarm Sweating TREATMENTS IN OXFORDSHIRE
Excessive Sweating Treatment: £400
Sweating is a normal and essential function that the body performs to regulate body heat. In certain individuals this function can be overactive, called hyperhidrosis. Botulinum Toxin Type-A is a prescription-only medication that can be used for the temporary reduction of underarm perspiration. The procedure, commonly known as a Botox Hyperhidrosis treatment, works by blocking the neurotransmitter, Acetylcholine, from activating the eccrine sweat glands to produce sweat. Multiple micro injections of a solution containing Botulinum Toxin Type-A are injected into the superficial skin of the underarm area, with a noticeable reduction of sweat production within 2 - 14 days. Treatments are usually repeated each 6-9 months.
Prior to receiving Botulinum toxin type - A injections, you will be required to have a consultation with Nurse Independent Prescriber, Adrian Baker, who will assess your medical history, discuss your needs, and devise a personalised treatment plan. You will also have the risks and benefits of treatment explained to you, prior to deciding whether the treatment is right for you. Should you wish to proceed with the treatment, and are medically safe to do so, a prescription will then be written by the Nurse Independent Prescriber for you to receive the treatment at a convenient time, once your medication had been delivered.
