Karen Buen is an Independent Medical Nurse Practitioner with over 16 years nursing experience and 10 years experience as a medical aesthetics specialist, so you can feel completely confident that you are in safe, expert hands.

Karen’s career journey began in the beauty industry, where she trained and worked in Beauty Therapy, as well as training in Media make-up for film and television, alongside Photography. With a natural pull towards creativity, beauty and the arts, this early experience clearly shaped the refined aesthetic eye she is known for today.

As her career progressed, Karen felt a strong calling towards a more caring, patient-focused role, driven by her passion for kindness and helping others. This led to a complete career change, and the start of her nursing journey.

Karen graduated from the University of Bedfordshire with a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing, before developing a particular interest in Public Health. She went on to complete a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse qualification, achieving a Distinction at Master’s level from Buckinghamshire New University. Karen then spent several years working within the NHS as a specialist nurse, gaining invaluable clinical experience both in the community and in critical care, but always felt drawn back to her beauty roots, ultimately discovering that medical aesthetics was the perfect fusion of both her professional passions.

Entering the aesthetics industry under the guidance of well-respected professionals, Karen has grown into a highly skilled, confident and reputable practitioner in her own right. She is deeply committed to continuous learning and professional development, attending advanced training courses and conferences across the UK, led by world-renowned doctors and plastic surgeons.

After several successful years in aesthetics, Karen returned to university for a third time to gain her Independent Nurse Prescribing qualification, specialising in medical aesthetics. She graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2019, once again achieving a Master’s level Distinction for her final dissertation.

Through years of dedication, precision and care, Karen has become a highly sought-after practitioner, recognised for her natural aesthetic eye, meticulous attention to detail, and gentle, calming manner. Clients frequently comment on how reassured and supported they feel throughout their treatment journey.

Karen takes pride in delivering carefully considered, bespoke treatment plans designed around each patient’s needs. She values a tailored, holistic approach to aesthetics, ensuring every treatment plan is uniquely suited to the individual.
